JUSTICE FOR WOMEN
We are an organization committed to standing against all forms of violence, for everyone, everywhere.
Our mission is to build a safer, more just world in which violence has no place in homes, communities, institutions or conflict zones. We work to raise awareness, break the silence, support survivors, and challenge the systems and social norms that allow violence and oppression to continue.
While our work is inclusive and dedicated to protecting all people affected by violence, including children, men and vulnerable communities, we place a special and urgent focus on violence against women and girls. Around the world, women continue to face disproportionate levels of sexual, physical, psychological and structural violence, both in times of war and in times of peace. This must change.
We support survivors, amplify their voices and advocate for accountability, prevention and cultural transformation. Through storytelling, education, campaigns, partnerships and advocacy, we create awareness, empower communities and inspire action.
We believe that ending violence against women is essential to ending violence everywhere. Through advocacy, education, and support, we seek justice for all those affected, women and men alike, by violence and oppression.
Together, we can create a world where every person lives free from fear, where dignity is a right not a privilege and where justice is not just a word but a reality.
Together, we can build a future rooted in dignity, equality, safety and respect for all.
Together, we can make a lasting difference.
WHAT WE DO & WHO WE WORK WITH
We develop projects addressing violence, with a strong focus on sexual violence in conflict and society. Our approach integrates art, storytelling, education, research and public engagement, in collaboration with survivors, artists, academics, human rights organizations, cultural institutions, policymakers and grassroots partners at national and international levels.
One of our key initiatives is The Huu Project, an international art and storytelling project that gives voice to survivors of conflict related sexual violence during war, crimes against humanity and genocide. The project includes a virtual museum accessible worldwide, physical exhibitions in museums and public spaces. Justice for Women also organizes educational workshops, public talks, podcasts and a global awareness campaign for survivors of sexual violence. Together, these activities reach diverse audiences and encourage recognition, understanding, empathy and collective responsibility.
WHAT COMES NEXT
Violence, especially sexual violence, remains deeply rooted in silence, stigma and inequality, both in conflict and in everyday life. While Huu focuses on violence in war and genocide, it is only the beginning.
Building on this work, we are launching It Can Be Different: a broader social movement aimed at breaking harmful patterns and creating lasting cultural change. This initiative consists of four interconnected campaigns for women, men, youth and children, combining storytelling, social media, podcasts and interactive workshops. Starting in the Netherlands and accessible globally online, the movement promotes safety, healing, responsibility and equality across cultures.
Our vision is a society where no one has to stay silent about violence.
Our mission is to make violence discussable, empower survivors, educate communities and foster a culture of responsibility and care not later, but now.
